Where possible, our raw native fruits, produce & materials are purchased from Aboriginal communities across the country ensuring that employment, income and education stays within the community. We are continuously active in assisting Aboriginal communities to set up wild harvesting and business enterprises and purchases produce back from those communities.
ENRICHING ABORIGINAL COMMUNITIES THROUGH CHARITY & SPONSORSHIP
Indigenous children are nearly three times as likely to die before their first birthday. Two thirds of Indigenous children will not finish secondary school and on average, will die 17 years younger than other Australians. Indigearth is passionate and committed to engaging with Indigenous communities across Australia and is a high priority for us. Supporting Indigenous people and communities, goes far beyond financial support, on a daily basis we are making a difference to change the lives of Indigenous children and their community. Founder of Indigiearth, Sharon Winsor is passionate about supporting Indigenous children’s health and wellbeing in particular. In 1997 Sharon’s first son Ngukirri (meaning “to give”) was stillborn due to heart problems. Sharon is now a single mum of two healthy teenage children. Over the past 16 years Sharon has personally contributed to Children’s heart and health programs, and is now in the process of setting up the Ngukirri Foundation to support, educate and assist with Aboriginal children to have access to heart specialists around the country and reduce childhood deaths. Every little bit counts, no matter how small you may think, can also make a world of difference to children in the community. Overall, we aim to contribute to better healthy lifestyles for Indigenous children, strengthening their cultural, spiritual and holistic wellbeing.
