Pepperberry trees are more commonly found growing in cooler high country areas of southern NSW, Victoria and Tasmania. The pepperberry leaf, from the pepperberry trees. whole pepperberries can take some time to fruit on the trees, and only the female plants produce the fruit. Traditionally used in cooking and for medicinal purposes. The pepperberry leaf is great in sweet and savoury dishes. The pepperberry leaf has a distinct flavour with an added herbal dimension particularly towards the end of the palate. Use in the same way as conventional pepper.
